Hunt: Showdown MSTROURUM – Monster Book
Fierce nightmare monsters wander along the swamps of Louisiana. You are a member of a group of burned mercenaries who were instructed to save the world from their chilling presence. Wipe the creatures from the face of the earth, and you will be generously paid. With this money you can purchase an even more advanced and powerful weapon. But if you fail the task, death will take your character and equipment. Your experience, however, will forever remain in your reserve hunters, also known as the legacy.
The creators of the game Hunt: ShowDown masterfully condenses paints, refusing to give unambiguous exhaustive information about what really happened in Louisiana in 1895 and what caused everything. Instead, we are given fragmentary and often conflicting information, which is not easy to figure out
Liber de Monstrorvm
Update 6.0 brought to the game Hunt: ShowDown many changes and new content. One of the new products was the long -awaited replenishment on the book shelf in the in -game section "Library". The new book is named after Liber de Monstrorvm, T.e. "Book of monsters". To emphasize the uniqueness of the information contained in it, the book is in a metal case. And access to the materials of the "Book of Monsters" is available only when performing specific and far from always simple tasks. Only the most thirsty knowledge and the most persistent will be able to read everything.
The Book of Monsters is divided into 4 sections, each of which contains subdivisions regarding each of the types of monsters found in the game Hunt: Showdown.
Targets (bosses, trophies from which you need to get)
Infected (infected)
Marked (special monsters)
Packs (flock monsters)
Murderer
Killer from the point of view of science
The appearance of the killer marks a sudden turn in Louisian business. Before him, the main feature of creatures was also significant dimensions, although they were not created for battles. The humanoid killer was specially created to intimidate and destroy people.
The stories about this being are similar to each other: they say about a high figure of human form, which, apparently, could turn into a swarm of insects. Is such a transformation the result of fraud or real physical transformations is a controversial moment. Although, knowing everything related to this matter, I am inclined to believe in the strangest and bizarre theories, then doubt.
I also noticed a remarkable pattern in his behavior. The killer seemed capable of incredible things. The main one is the ability to divide into several (three) copies of oneself. These copies play the role of a distracting maneuver, independently attacking hunters, while a real killer is waiting for a suitable opportunity to strike.
Butcher
Butcher from the point of view of science
It is quite obvious that you cannot rely on the documentation. The further we are moving in the solution of puzzles, the more often we have to resort to logic and faith. Inconsistencies are not at all surprising, given the sources and subjectivity of the memories. The overall picture has a certain meaning, it follows its own internal logic. Despite this, even it is difficult for me to believe that I found ties with his first appearance in Louisian.
A huge bloated body – obviously a relative of a leaf – with pieces of wood and metal protruding from the skin. Leather apron that covers the horrors of the body. Pig’s head. And somehow a flaming hook. He is immune to the fire and heat, perhaps partly thanks to the apron, as well as strokes with stupid objects. Just “absorbs” bullets, but at the same time subject to cutting attacks. It’s hard for me to imagine how people at all managed to kill them. If he was furious, then his behavior became random, and the flame scattered from the aforementioned hook. I shakes me only from thoughts about him. What was it like, probably, to go beyond the dark corner and meet the face of this, which seemed impossible, monster?
If you believe the testimonies, these butchers, as they were called by those who hunt them, were straight from nightmares. Either it is, or only the most fantastic of the stories came to me. Can we actually separate the facts from fiction in our position? It is possible that not, but I have to continue attempts, even if I can never be sure that it is true.
Spider
Spider from the point of view of science
There are much more people from arachnophobia than you think. Primitive fear of something poisonous, creeping, weaving traps, capable of climbing on any surface. Although all they do is protect their habitat from flies and other undesirable creatures. True, a spider with a quarter is not so terrible. But even in the most rational and logical people, eight -legged arachnids will be disgusted, the size of a horse gnashing with jaws and throwing the jets of the web. Spider is one of the strangest and monstrous examples of horror that covered the swamp. And this is one of those examples that in all its versatility and repeatability confirms this nightmare.
In the archive, references to something https://stakezone-top.co.uk/mobile-app/ constantly appear that is neither a person nor a pavuok, but more reminiscent of a half -intention, consisting of a mass of limbs, with a poisoned body and mind.
The hunters were pragmatic, and that’s all that can be said. Most of the surviving information concerns how to deal with this beast. He strikes a powerful blow, and then disappears in the shade to prepare for the next attack. Hunters were recommended to constantly move, since the spider, apparently, could spit with a poison that remained in the air for some time.
Nearby weapons, which could be cut or hit, turned out to be effective for damaging its limbs and bone fracture. Poison and friend toxins are useless.
It is known, however, that this spider belongs to another even greater evil hiding somewhere there. The more we can find out about him, the clearer the picture in general will become.
Henchman
Harse from the point of view of science
It is difficult to conduct any typological analysis of this incident in Louisian. I begin to think that these events may have become the beginning of the stories about the zombies that we have today. This, of course, corresponds to the scheme: some kind of deadly infection affects the settlement, almost destroys all its population, and then the dead rebel from their graves to enjoy the living. Although this is the only story about the zombie that I heard when zombies take weapons – in most cases, torches and tesaki – to fight with the living. The old saying says: the truth is always much more strange than fiction.
It seems that the hunters of this era simply called them henchmen. Of course, there are conflicting messages, but the material that I found earlier seems to mean that the henchman is probably a slow human being, possibly a victim of a viral infection or is controlled by some great spirit or Loa [In the religion of Voodoo, invisible perfumes that carry out mediation between God and man, but at the same time are not deities, but to a greater extent analogue. Endowed with great power and almost unlimited possibilities].
Although sometimes I seem to cling to a straw to identify some of the more specialized monsters described in the original texts, the henchmen are at least universal. Of particular importance is the autopsy made and almost completely restored from Dr. Reinhard Winkler, which I included in the archive.
According to reports, you could quickly destroy the henchman with a successful shot in the head. I still would not want to meet one of them in the dark. And, of course, not a few.
Armored
Armored from the point of view of science
I used the work of Skognamiglio to illustrate a comprehensive analysis of armored, rare pleasure, since there are very few survivors. More physical analysis is available from Harold Black. It follows it:
Armored, its name turned out to be surprisingly ambiguous. Some note a protected figure that is ready to hide in their sink. This cannot be true, since many talk about the opposite. A creature that is well -protected, capable of dangerous attacks. Shock attack; with greater mobility and flexibility than giant meat -headed.
Poprazing George Washington, "offensive operations are the most reliable means of protection". Thus, this sample is apparently equipped for continuous pursuit of its goals, protected from their response. One report says that it is smart enough to break through the door, although this is impossible to check.
So what does his armor protect? A fool will think that himself. No. Once and again, these enemies are found in the immediate vicinity of the faults, those vulnerable or important places for the beast. They hide behind the doors, linger at the doorways: all potential points of the approach, all vital places for control.
The name received from hunters was pragmatic; They were not fond of occultism to explain it. Although this creature is exactly the same as at least the henchmen, its taxonomy is uncertain.
Some people think about it as something more than armored belly, some mutations thicken the skin and develop a chitin exoskeleton. I would not agree with this, it is often noted that the armored shell is especially fiery and vulnerable to all types of incendiary devices.
Others who may be more closely connected with my own beliefs, think about it as something unique. It is such a mutation should have a more significant purpose.
Hive
Hive in terms of science
Of the ten creatures that I have yet investigated, it was the Hot who captured my thoughts. Despite the fact that it was classified as a henchman, it was a much more dangerous creature, leading an insects to any person within reach, until their bodies were squeezed out and swollen from their vile poison. Only her own death – the death of their owner, the mother of the hive – stopped their constant attacks. Although it could be killed from afar with a shot in the head, the location of the latter on her body made it difficult for the best shooters. The blow with a dull weapon can harm her, although the insignificant, and during the time that would be required for this attempt, her predatory swarms would have already managed to send their prey or plunge.
Looking at the wider picture of what was happening, I try to understand the goal that each form served in the eyes of its creator. The documents I collected, in particular, interviews with Ada Shell, led me to the hypothesis that the function of the hive was to be a carrier and a distributor of the disease. Transform or kill at a distance; perpetuates the "race". I recall the works of the Traska (TRASK), which wrote at that time, which was convinced that the Divine Mission of the woman was the "perpetuating of the race" through continuous propagation. As you will see, the grain of this idea – no matter how strange it is – incarnated in the first described hive.
Torch
Torch from the point of view of science
The torch seems to be the most tortured of all. The slightest movement leads him to rage, randomly attacks him, and when fired, he burns even more and explodes like an evil bull. He, of course, can be extinguished in water (and can be deadly absorbed in his own inner flame), but otherwise it is the most reasonable example that I saw. The beast can really open the doors!
I noticed some biblical parallels in the history in which I believe – a description of the very first incident. Was religious groups correctly all this? I think. We both assumed that folklore was just this: knowledge, terrible tales at night. The useless attempt of another author to impose a linear, understandable human meaning to an inexplicable event. What if this time they understood everything correctly? The beating that led to the transformation of Jeremiah should have occurred in an unstable place, but it is unlikely that any of the criminals knew about this. One witness survived and is listed in the list as placed in a hospital for mentally ill with a diagnosis of religious mania and in horror from hellish fires.
Butter
Leather
Honestly, I don’t understand why they generally called this creature a meat head. The creature has no head. It can best be described as a bloated, headless, humanoid monster. It is easier to cut than it is shot; Strong in the attack, but too well protected to get a lot of damage from a fist or blunt object. It seems that he has a symbiotic relationship with leeches, although they are also not creatures that you could recognize as such. Leeches, apparently, acted as the organs of the creature’s senses, allowing him to see, find prey and weaken this prey with his toxic bites. They are a smart continuation of the creature, set him a route.
Skogmillo (Scognamiglio), this fool. He called them "Soul Farmers), but I do not understand why. He thought that they were, in fact, vampires that feed on souls, and not blood. He imagined how they go to the cities at night, collecting the "souls" of people. But read only one of your own description of this creature, and you will understand that it cannot just enter the city in order to quietly collect the souls of its inhabitants. He had neither the eye nor the mouth that could be fed, and he certainly would not go to most doors. This is not a subtle creature. In no case, leaving behind a trace of leeches.
Hell Hound
Hound in the point of view of science
At first, the facts: the so -called “hellish hounds” were flocking animals (most often met in groups from two to four), aggressive and quick. These dogs will act together in order to hit the target, and although they do not have any special protection, they also did not have any special vulnerabilities.
I know, I used to say that I consider some aspects of this case incredible. And yet, you should know that I believe. If I hadn’t done this, I would not lead this magazine. But the hellish hound, which is ubiquitous in myths and legends to such a degree of banality, amazes me as the only creature among them, which, rather, is a story than reality. People were always afraid of dogs, even when they began to tame them and live side by side with them. Were these samples really supernatural creatures, as reported? Or just very aggressive, wild dogs, which have become even more disgusting when the plague made mend food and human kindness?
Skonymillo considered them Italian mastphs obsessed with destruction. Other sources describe them as “revived dog corpses”, but we must take into account their reliability. Blinks tend to exaggerate. Messages about the ominous pex muzzles with terrible collars indicate that there was actually an infection, but I can’t say whether it is supernatural (decomposition) or scientific (rabies) of origin, since sources on this issue are unconvincing in my opinion.
Water devil
Water Devil from the point of view of science
My initial assumptions about the origin of the water devil were completely refuted by my last research. I thought it was connected with some types of eel. Or even with carapace pike or fish-fish, which seemed logical. Or I thought so. But I run ahead. Let me start from the very creature, how the hunters learned about him.
You can easily make a mistake by taking a water devil for a creature with many tentacles, in fact it is a swarm of smaller aquatic animals. He seemed to feel the presence of outsiders in his native waters, and his movements were quick and decisive. Because of this such swear, it was very difficult to kill him with bullets, often the best way was to be ashore
For a long time, the water in the tops seemed silent. The usual living creatures in them escaped or was killed. Either both: it is likely that creatures absorbed the wild nature, but several populations of alligators clearly survived after infection [that this is not a fat hint of the emergence of crocodile -like monsters in the future?].
Collins (Collins) and Scognamiglio agree with this, as well as with the appearance of creatures, although at the moment I find all this a little fantastic. It is not surprising that along with information from the surviving eyewitness there is a fictional version of history.
Although the logic (well, the alleged logic) of the form and functions of these creatures can be perverted and strange, the water devil is felt in this scheme as an unsuccessful experiment. I cannot accurately define his purpose as a large organism, but I believe that there could be, for example, a monstrous gluttonous predator capable of moving both by water and by land, which would fulfill its tasks.
Conclusion
In this blog, all monsters from the game Hunt: Showdown were painted. In the next blogs, I would like to paint each of the monsters in more detail, since each of them in the game is attached to five notes, which open as the game and perform a number of different conditions.
